The endoscope is typically inserted through a natural opening in the body to allow the doctor to examine internal organs and structures. During the procedure, the doctor may also perform a <strong>biopsy<\/strong>, which involves collecting a small tissue sample for further laboratory examination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Different types of endoscopic procedures are available to evaluate specific areas of the body.<\/p>\n<h3>Non-Surgical Endoscopy<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>Bronchoscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to examine the airways and lungs and help identify the cause of respiratory problems, such as persistent cough or abnormalities detected on a chest X-ray.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gastroscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to examine the upper gastrointestinal tract and identify the causes of digestive symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty or pain when swallowing, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Capsule Endoscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to examine the inner lining of the small intestine, an area that cannot be fully reached by conventional gastroscopy or colonoscopy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colonoscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to examine the inner lining of the colon and diagnose conditions such as <a href=\"https:\/\/abdiwaluyo.com\/facilities-services\/general-facilities\/inflammatory-bowel-disease-center\/\">Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)<\/a> and colorectal cancer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nasoscopy \/ Nasal Endoscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to examine the nasal and sinus passages and identify the causes of symptoms such as nasal congestion, nosebleeds, reduced sense of smell, and recurrent runny nose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Surgery<\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>Arthroscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to diagnose and treat or repair joint conditions and injuries affecting the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and other joints.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hysteroscopy<\/strong> \u2013 used to diagnose and treat conditions that may cause abnormal uterine bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular spotting, and certain fertility problems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ureterorenoscopy (URS)<\/strong> \u2013 used to diagnose and treat kidney and ureteral stones, strictures, and certain urothelial cancers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Endoscopy Endoscopy is a safe and minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the body using an endoscope, a thin, flexible tube equipped with a small camera.
