3D & 4D Ultrasound

Ultrasonography (USG)

Ultrasonography (USG) is a non-invasive imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of specific areas of the body. At RS Abdi Waluyo, your doctor may recommend 3D and 4D ultrasound as a supporting examination to help diagnose certain medical conditions or to evaluate and monitor fetal development during pregnancy.

Before the Examination

Depending on the type of ultrasound examination, you may be asked to:

• Lie down on the examination bed.
• Remove clothing or personal items that may interfere with the examination, such as belts, jewelry, dentures, or eyeglasses.
• Fast for several hours before the examination, if required for the area being examined.

During the Examination

The doctor or sonographer will apply a special ultrasound gel to the skin over the area being examined. A transducer will then be placed against the skin and gently moved over the examination area to capture images.

The examination generally takes approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on the type and area being examined.

After the Examination

Once the examination is complete, the ultrasound gel will be wiped from your skin. In most cases, you can immediately return to your normal activities without any special recovery period.
