Digital X-Ray

A digital X-ray, also known as digital radiography, is an advanced form of X-ray imaging that uses digital detectors instead of traditional photographic film. The images are converted into digital data immediately, allowing doctors to review them within seconds.

Digital X-rays provide detailed images that can help doctors assess bone injuries, fractures, and other abnormalities, as well as identify certain soft-tissue masses that may require further evaluation. The high image quality can also help doctors detect small or subtle fractures more clearly.

Before the Examination

You will be asked to:

• Change into a hospital gown.
• Remove metal objects such as belts, jewelry, dentures, and eyeglasses that may interfere with the image.
• Depending on the area being examined, you may be instructed to fast for several hours before the examination.

After the Examination

Once the X-ray examination is complete, you can generally resume your normal activities immediately. No special recovery period is usually required.
