Conditions like dry eyes, eye strain, or blurred vision can develop gradually and may go unnoticed until they worsen.

Leaving makeup on overnight can block oil glands near the base of your eyelashes, leading to inflammation and potential infections. One common condition caused by this buildup is hordeolum, also known as a stye. A stye appears as a painful, swollen lump on the eyelid caused by a bacterial infection in one of these blocked glands. In addition, leftover mascara particles or eye shadow can irritate the delicate surface of the eyes, causing redness, dryness, or even corneal scratches if makeup particles enter the eye. To prevent these problems, always use a gentle makeup remover or micellar water to clean your eyelids and lashes thoroughly each night. Practicing this habit not only keeps your eyes healthy but also promotes clearer, irritation-free vision.

With the rise of screen usage in modern life, many people turn to anti-radiation or blue light glasses to protect their eyes. These glasses are designed to filter out blue light emitted from digital devices, which has been linked to eye strain, dry eyes, and disrupted sleep patterns. While research has yet to confirm that blue light directly causes permanent eye damage, studies do suggest that it contributes to digital eye strain, particularly when people stare at screens for long periods. However, they work best when combined with healthy habits, such as taking regular breaks using the 20-20-20 rule.
