Ultrasonography (USG) is a procedure for taking images of certain parts of the body by utilizing high-frequency sound waves. At RS Abdi Waluyo, your doctor may recommend a 3D & 4D ultrasound as a supporting examination to diagnose a disease or to evaluate and monitor fetal health during pregnancy.
You will be asked to:
- Lie down.
- Remove clothes, metal objects, such as a belt, jewelry, dentures, and eyeglasses, which could interfere with image results
- Depending on what is examined, you may be instructed to fast for a few hours before the procedure
The doctor will apply a special gel to the skin in the examination area. A transducer will be attached and moved in the area being examined. The test will take around 15 to 30 minutes. After the test is finished, the gel will be wiped off your body and you can immediately return to normal activities.
